Welcome to Tiny Paws Dog Rescue Canada

Meet Grace.  She's a 4 year old dachshund who came to Tiny Paws a month after an injury that resulted in paralyzed hind quarters because of lack of treatment.  Tiny Paws wants to give Grace every chance for a full recovery, but we need your help to do that.

One in four dachshunds will have an issue with their back in their lifetime. Treatment is either surgery within 48 hours of injury, or more conservative treatment of 8 weeks of crate rest and steroids.  Grace received neither with her original owners.  Understandably, not everyone can afford the costly surgery; however, Grace did not receive the necessary crate rest and was allowed to drag herself around.  Grace is currently paralyzed in the hindquarters and incontinent.

Hi! I'm Grace - I'm resting in my crate between treatments.

I've hurt my back and need to heal - Can you help?

You can follow Grace's treatments and progress on her foster mom's blog   www.teckeltails.blogspot.com

Due to the delay in treatment, and additional damage to the discs caused by
continuing to drag her paralyzed hindquarters, Grace now has a longer and much more difficult path to possibly walking again.  She is now on crate rest and medication, and she is also receiving special treatments to compensate for the time lag between when her injury occurred and when she arrived into our care.

By sending a charitable donation you will be helping us to help Grace and the many others like her that get abandoned or surrendered after an injury.
Tiny Paws Dog Rescue Canada is a registered Canadian charitable organization, dedicated to giving dogs like Grace every opportunity for recovery and a full life.  All donations over $10 will receive an income tax receipt.  With your help, we can continue this important work helping Grace and other dogs in need.

Adoption fees are based on the age of the dog being adopted:

Under 3 years of age - $325
3-8 years of age - $300
Over 9 years of age - $225

Tiny Paws Dog Rescue also requires a minimum mandatory surrender fee of $50 for all owners surrendering their dogs to our organization.

These fees help to offset our ever-increasing costs to provide quality veterinary care to our dogs prior to adoption, as well as the difficult and challenging economic times which have affected the amount of private donations we receive from the public.
